2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, California 94105, USA (“Netlify”). When you access the website, Netlify processes technical connection data that may include your IP address, the date and time of access, the requested page or file, the referring page, browser and device information, response status and the amount of data transferred.

This processing is necessary to deliver the website and to maintain its security, stability and technical functionality. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and reliable operation of the website. Log data is retained only for as long as it is required for these purposes or to comply with legal obligations.

Netlify processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Data may also be processed in the United States. Netlify states that transfers are based on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Further information is available in Netlify’s privacy statement and data processing agreement.

3. Contact form and email enquiries

If you contact us through the contact form or by email, we process the information you provide, in particular your name, email address and message, in order to respond to your enquiry. The contact form is processed through Netlify Forms and the submission is stored in the Netlify account and may be forwarded to our email address.

If your enquiry relates to a contract or steps prior to entering into a contract, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to answer messages sent to us. We delete the data when the enquiry has been fully dealt with, unless contractual or statutory retention obligations require longer storage.

4. Cookies and local storage

This website currently does not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies. To prevent the privacy notice from appearing on every visit, your browser stores an acknowledgement and its date under the key “friday-cookie-preferences”. This information remains on your device and is not used to track you or create a profile.

The storage is technically necessary to provide the privacy-setting function you requested. It is based on section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can remove it at any time by deleting this website’s stored data in your browser. The notice will then appear again on your next visit.

5. Recipients and international transfers

Apart from Netlify and service providers used to operate our email account, personal data is not disclosed to third parties unless this is necessary to respond to your enquiry, perform a contract or comply with a legal obligation. Information about transfers involving Netlify is provided in section 2.

6. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, restrict processing, receive data you provided in a portable format and object to processing based on legitimate interests (Arts. 15–21 GDPR). You may exercise these rights by contacting us at the email address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority for Berlin is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this privacy policy if the website or the services used on it change.
